Hi, I'm Emma.
The physiotherapist behind Empowered Physio. I work with women to support their bodies, through pregnancy and birth and beyond. Whether it's birth preparation, rebuilding after bub, or getting back to moving, I am here to help.
Years learning how bodies heal.
I started out in musculoskeletal and sport physiotherapy, working with injuries and pain. Here, I developed a keen focus on the lower back and pelvis. That's still where I thrive, especially a pregnant pelvis!
Over time I was drawn to women's health. The more I worked with mums through pregnancy and beyond, the clearer it became that this was the work I was meant to do. I trained further through the Women's Health Training Associates and am continually upskilling in this field.
I have prescribed rehabilitation and Pilates my whole career. I believe movement is the key to recovery in any situation.
How do I practise? I'm holistic. I utilise my skills and experiences to support you on your journey. I look for the root cause of any symptoms rather than a quick fix. I believe treatment plans should be achievable and fit into your daily life.
To help a person on their journey you must hold space for their mind, body and soul.
Always learning, for you.
The person behind the physio.
When I'm not in the clinic, I'm a wife to Dane, a mum to a busy boy named River and a sausage dog called Sizzle. I love being active, whether that's weights, running or Pilates. When I finally sit still, you'll find me deep in a crime thriller, or practising my hobby, DJing.
Let's work on it, together.
Preparing for birth, rebuilding after bub, or ready to move well again. I'd love to help.
